March 7, 1965
Posted On 03/07/2010 20:05:13

On Sunday we commemorate the bravery of 600 men women who 45 years ago dared to take a 54 mile march from Selma, Alabama, to the capital, Montgomer, for the right to vote. Many of these unarmed patriots were beaten with bully clubs and gassed by police officers.

How much has changed in the last 45 years ?

Many minorities voters still today face obstacles to casting ballots.

A New War On Breast Cancer
Posted On 11/18/2009 23:36:05

Are we now involved in a new war? The war on breast cancer and much needed routine mammograms.

A federal advisory board has recommended that women in their 40’s should avoid mammograms and self giving breast examinations.

What planet are these people on or from for that matter.

I strongly feel this is a war we  must continue to improve and implement new policies to increase the number of survivors not add to the death count.

Obama and the Nobel Prize Debate
Posted On 10/12/2009 13:11:37

Did President Obama deserve the Nobel Prize? This is an ongoing debate that will probably be the main topic of discussion for upcoming weeks and months. Obama was honored for his efforts to strengthen international diplomacy. Past Nobel Prize winners have voiced a positive response in agreement with the committee’s decision. On the other hand, many people disagree and feel the Nobel Prize was premature.

What is your view and why?

“Snitching”, now is the time
Posted On 10/03/2009 13:17:19

Many crimes infested areas are infected with frightened people, who refuse to assist law enforcement in violent crime investigations. “No Snitching”, is an everyday phrase used as a verbally violent tool and in most cases a deadly silencing code to those who witness wrong – doings.

“More Snitching”, is this an act that should be promoted?

The rise of violence among our youth is at an alarming rate and many believe these numbers will increase in the future.

Should the phrase “No Snitching” continued to be promoted?

I vote death to the phrase and the silence code which hurts so many people in this deadly chain of events.

Should passengers face stricter punishments for inappropriate behavior?
Posted On 09/20/2009 07:08:09

Today’s airlines face many difficult challenges in providing a safe and comfortable flight experience. The September 11, 2001, attacks have prompted federal agencies to clamp down and revise many standard operating procedures.

Flight crew’s are more often presented with passengers who conduct themselves inappropriately, instead of daily terrorism attacks. Many incidents are caused by frustrated passengers, experiencing missing baggage and the occasional delays.

The Federal Aviation Administration has reported over 900 cases with in five years, in which passengers have verbally harassed and physically struck flight crew attendances. In light of the increased number of incidents of unruly passengers, the FFA has upgraded the penalties for interfering with flight attendances and air operations. IF the incident is serious enough and you are convicted a judge could impose a maximum of $250,000 in fines and up to 20 years in a federal prison.

In your opinion are punishments for unruly passengers fair or excessive in nature?

Serena’s poor conduct
Posted On 09/13/2009 23:21:41

Serena Williams, as we all know is ranked one of the best in the world for her accomplishments in tennis, displayed an unsportsmanlike behavior at the US Open. Many bloggers have painted Serena as a “THUG” and feel she is no longer suited to represent the US in future Grand Slams.

In my opinion, her outburst was unprofessional and a poor judgment call but I do not feel being Banned from future events is the proper course of action, nor do I agree with her being labeled as “THUG”.

Health care is not a game
Posted On 09/09/2009 19:18:14

As we all know, health care is a very important issue that affects all of us. Many so called experts feel President Obama is not providing an answer to problem. In fact, many Americans feel that President Obama is the leading problem on most political issues especially health care.

Hmmmm. Are these so-called experts speaking for the people or themselves?

The economy has suffered much and health care for all is a major issue, but division will not solve this problem.
